I Was A Teenage Girl!
A downloadable zine
Download NowName your own price
When I was in middle school, I had to take a combination girls' health/girls' empowerment class called Oh My Goddess. At the end of the class we all made a zine about ourselves and what it was like being a teenage girl. I may not have been "officially" trans yet, but I was definitely GNC, and I did not relate.
This zine was born of me cutting up and commenting on that class zine we made! I talk about bullying, gender, and my overall experience in the class. Lots of campy throwback junk.
24 pages, B&W, 5.5" x 8.5" (half letter)
P.S. I also sell and trade physical copies of my zines at twentytwozines.com

First of all, I usually bundle the zines I download on my computer to my tablet, but the theme of this one is just so on-the-nose to my experiences I wanted to read it right away - and yeah, wow! This is a really, really good read; my experience was hardly blow-for-blow, but it's an intimately familiar Middle School vibe...
What I find really interesting is a lot of the dynamics and social behaviors are still obviously present in my 23-33 year old Gal^tm coworkers - I'm not out to them, but they can tell there's something Weird* about me, and they react to my personal quirks like they're somehow A Threat Aimed At Them.
(*You might even say.... QUEER...)
I have the physical of this, it is an incredibly cathartic trans read.
